Intro and commercial: solo exhibition of Terada Ryuta

an Upper classman (graduate in 3/20 2010) from KSUA is going to plan to open an art exhibition in Kyoto around May. Specific place and time is not known yet, just got this information from him about a month ago. How this came to be is that the owner of the gallery liked Ryuta's work that was displaced in Kyoto Museum during the graduating student's work exhibition in Januray, and asked him if he would be interested to have his works for show. New work for the gallery is now done, and tomorrow, both new works and past older works will be transported to the gallery.

Ryuta is also known as "Master" throughout the school. His nickname from high school adapted to his personality and the environment, thus it stayed. He studies in the Fine Arts dept. is mostly absract/surreal/impression-action paintings. It is hard to explain his style without actually looking at the stuff he makes, and when he does it.

As a friend and lower classman, I like his works, and thought that it would be cool to have some of his works showed here. If your in the neighboorhood, check it out.

Oh, by the way, If you are going to put a price on his works, how much would you be willing to pay?? I'd like to know!!

Songs For The Week Minded

Cune Pluto Fashion Cosign- Bodega X Converse the Poorman Weapon Shoe

I never used to fuck with the Converse's "Weapon" shoes....But after checking these at Sneakerfreaker and peeping the other collabs this Boston boutique has done(i.e. the Reebok Pump 20 year anniversary edition kicks), I will mos def be saving up to find and buy a pair on ebay( the set is limited to 100). The price right now is only $120, but I'm sure these will jump to be $300 and beyond after Bodega sells out of them. If you got your money right cop these right away !

Freeway & Jakeone- The Stimulus Package

When I first heard about this album about 2 months ago...I was shaking my head in disbelief. Freeway is on Rhymesayers? Say word? Freeway is doing an album with Jakeone? Say word? I guess Freezer thouhght it would be best to not deal with all the major label bullshit, and the result of that thought is one of the best albums of his career to date. Freeway sounds right at home over the great production by Jakeone, which in my my opinion is why this record shines. Most of the time an MC has anywhere from 5- 10 producers on one record and he constanly has to change his approach to the music. You can tell Free is comfortable with Jake handling the whole album and it allows his rhymes to be displayed with an effortless quality.

This record is one of the few indie releases that will be felt by street niggas and backpackers alike. Bridging the gap between mainstream and indie almost flawlessly. Being that this record is on an indie juggernaut like Rhymesayers, people who would have probably never given Freeway the time of day will be inclined to listen because of the label and Jakeone. And because it is an MC who a lot of niggas love in the streets, who never even heard of Rhymesayers and Jakeone, it will sell like hotcakes.
Below are some of the tracks I am really digging right now.
