Blackout Jones at The Monster House

I think we should change the name of the blog to The Youtube Gang? Maybe not but I found these gems of the Jonester getting down, rowdy, and just not giving a fuck at a Monster House show a few years ago. After watching these videos I realized how unnecessarily hard we would rage at some of these shows to soft ass pop/folk punk. I guess it was the 40's and blunts yo. But anyway if yall have the time please check these vids out I had to catch my breath a couple times from laughing so hard after watching Parts 1 and 2, Jones was prob. the happiest/drunkest man in the crowd this night.

Thread and Butter, outside your window
Spooktober, athens oh, http://www.myspace.com/spooktober

Again, if you haven't seen the recent complaints on the DIY board, everybody needs to be

I don't want to get nasty, but some people feel that attacking others is the best way to promote donations...whatever. Just thought I'd put the word out so all this bitching and moaning can stop. Thanks.

Lovely Eggs and Monster House

Last night General PG, Polska One, and the newest and 2nd female member of the Too Phly Gang, Ellaface a.k.a Wifey, went to the the Monster House to check out what I thought would be an acoustic show. PG and I skated the alleys of campus and drank 40's on our way to the destination. When we arrived monster house was popping off... I mean there were alot of people there. I immediately went straight to the basement where I found a cute blonde with a British accent holding a guitar. When her set started Peege and I were all smiles. The Lovely Eggs are a British 2 piece indie rock band from Lancaster, UK. They have a Wiki page so im not gonna rant too much about them. But they are fucking dope playing electric and acoustic tracks, as well as using a ukuele for one track that M.Davis would have dug. After they set I tried to hit on Holly, the vocalist/guitarist, only to discover that she was married to her drummer, David Blackwell. They are an awesome couple and really nice people, they offered me cds and a shirt which I regretfully forgot to grab. I was so satisfied with that band I didnt even give the other bands a chance. So we proceeded to party, drink wine in a suit jacket, and do philly hand style tags all over north campus, it was a funtime.

The Tuttle Park Show and My New Friends From Brooklyn.

Last night was awesome as usual. There was a show down at Tuttle Park that featured Haywire Desire, Bad Blood Revival, and Stupid Party. I showed up in the middle of Haywire Desires set and was almost mauled by a dog...kinda not really. They were sick and their vocalist/guitarist, Britt, is also a member of Rag Rage formerly Panty Hearst. I then left to pick up a few TPG's to bring back to the show but was stopped by the noise my new friends from brooklyn made. Bad Blood Revival are a fucking dope grunge rock band and really friendly people. I only got to hear one song sadly but it was enough to literally make me stand still in awe and put a huge smile on my face. After returning I arrived just as Stupid Party were packing up which sucked cause I was looking forward to hearing them. I notice some merch the bands had and met Carolina of Bad Blood, she is a sweetheart who hooked me up with one of they dope shirts and informed me that I will be the only person in Columbus, Ohio rocking it. I also met some of they friends/roadies, Joe and Chris who I will be linking up with on future trips to NYC because they are my doods. They invited me over to the Monster House where I drank PBR and they purchased $60 of el Budweiser, clowned about dogs, social networking sites and my job in corporate america. We then went to a party/shindig at 14th and 15th as they called it, right behind the 4th Street Mansion. On the way Nate, Carolina, and Chris enjoyed a nice ride in the back of the Chevy which I believed was their first, and Johnny of Stupid Party was excited at the sight of a raccoon, I love ohio. The rest of the night consisted of drinking, clowning, lots of talk about music, a 40 year old women sexting me, stories about touring and seeing famous people in Brooklyn like Mos Def and Matt and Kim. I also got to talk with Britt of Haywire Desire/Rag Rage who hipped me to some all female punk bands and hooked me up with some of they merch. I was sad to leave my new friends but it was 3am and there were still people partying in the hood so I proceded to do drunk tags and bump Gucci Mane on my way to the next destination, all in all it was an awesome night.

PANCREATECTOMIE

Last night Krusty Karl, my lady friend Ellen and I went to the Monster House to check out a few bands. We got there around 11pm ish so we missed most of the bands except for these guys. Pancreatectomie is a punk/thrash/grindcore band from Columbus, OH. These doods were pretty dope, playing fast, loud and quick tracks while there vocalist, Shawn, belted out typical "grindcore" lyrics that I couldnt understand but still enjoyed and found amusing. The group consists of a guitarist Greg who was real cool, drummer Dylan who was sick and modest, and vocalist Shawn who was energetic yet non-chalant at the same time. After the set I chatted with Greg and Dylan for a few about the band. They told me they are fans of metal/death metal/punk etc. and started the band for fun. They have over 40 tracks recorded and are not sure when there next show is cause they dont play often, im done rantin bout these dudes check they myspace page for more on these bruhs.
